Audit & Assurance

Pinnacle Accountancy Group of Utah (Pinnacle)'s assurance practice has a broad range of expertise in many areas which allows us to serve a wide variety of clients. However, we have developed a particular expertise in audits of private for-profit entities, assisted housing entities, governmental entities, single audits, and nonprofit entities.

Our audit practice provides year end audits and quarterly reviews as well as related consulting services to non-attest clients. We focus on international and complex issues such as mergers and reverse mergers, options and warrants, convertible instruments and derivatives.

Our assisted housing practice serves housing authorities, USDA-Rural Development, HUD and FHA Direct Lenders and other related organizations, as well as Homeowners Associations, cost certifications, and FHA (HUD mortgagor) audits.

Attest services can be broken down into three different levels of assurance:

• Audits: provide the highest level of assurance for companies, and are for those that require audits for regulatory reasons in order to file their annual financial statements, or for companies who need audited financials for their shareholders, lenders or other investors.
   
• Reviews: provide limited assurance to outside interests and involve inquiries and analytical procedures that confirm financial statement matters and identify any items requiring further analysis.
   
• Compilations: are usually requested for internal purposes and are based upon information provided by a company’s management. They do not offer assurance, but may involve some adjustments to accounting records.
